Show Notes

PT 1: Christine Michel Carter is a mother of two kids, Forbes Contributor and Founder of Minority Women Marketing, who has been called the “mother of LinkedIn” by the New York Post. She is an advisory board member of Mom Congress, published author, regular guest speaker and contributor to ForbesWomen, TIME, Entrepreneur, HuffPost, Health and Parents publications.

This is the first of three mini episodes of our conversation, which took place over the summer. In this interview, we talk about how her career continued to thrive during the past few years while here children were at home alongside her.

THINGS WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Supporting other authors and the work they do
  • Working at a startup that was completely unprepared for parental leave
  • Pumping in a bathroom at work after the birth of her first child
  • Deciding to bring her whole authentic self to work as a parent
  • Advocating for remote work before the pandemic and being told no by a Fortune 500 company
  • Making the shift to remote work with two kids at home

Thanks to Christine Michel for taking part of her day to speak with me about her parenthood journey and advocating for flexible work!

Season 4 has been sponsored by the Startup Community Empowerment Fund, presented by Startup Canada, Mastercard, UPS and BDC.
